AHIMA Welcomes Jennifer Mueller, MBA, RHIA, SHIMSS, FACHE, FAHIMA as Senior Vice President of Health Information Career Advancement
(CHICAGO, IL, July 1, 2024) - Jennifer Mueller, MBA, RHIA, SHIMSS, FACHE, FAHIMA, will join AHIMA as the senior vice president of Health Information Career Advancement, effective July 29, 2024. Jennifer brings a deep understanding of the industry and a passion for advancing the field of health information (HI).
In her new role, Jennifer will lead AHIMA in assessing the professional and training needs of the HI workforce, creating strategies aimed at advancing the careers of HI professionals. She will oversee AHIMA’s CEU development and educational quality initiatives. She will focus on our members’ career advancement needs, will assist with creating the value proposition for membership and execute on opportunities identified in the member needs assessment. She will assist with the development and execution of strategies to solidify the value of AHIMA credentials with those who employ HI professionals.
Prior to joining AHIMA, Jennifer served as the vice president and privacy officer at the Wisconsin Hospital Association Information Center in Madison, Wisconsin. With a wealth of experience in healthcare leadership, including roles as vice president and chief information officer at Watertown Regional Medical Center, Jennifer possesses a profound comprehension and fervent dedication to advancing HI. As a recent President of AHIMA, her connection to and with the membership and professional community will help AHIMA keep its finger on the pulse of member needs.

Ms. Mueller is a credentialed HI administrator and earned both her Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and her MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
