Tanya joined the VHA Privacy Compliance team in 2022 after serving over 20+ years in the field. She is a Registered Health Information Tech (RHIT) and a certified VHA mentor (VHA-CM). In 2008 she joined the VA as the Assistant Director of HIM. From there transitioned to be a Privacy/FOIA Officer for 5 years before returning to HIM as the Director of HIM. Prior to joining the VA, she worked for two large health care systems as a HIM supervisor.
