CCHIIM Board Votes to Remove 40% Stipulation
Previously, the Commission on the Certification of Health Informatics and Information Management (CCHIIM) passed a requirement that 40% of your continuing education hours must come from AHIMA or the Component Associations.
Due to implementation challenges, the requirement was placed on hold. In the interim, AHIMA and CCHIIM received feedback from AHIMA members, which were considered throughout the process. At their last meeting, and after considerable discussion, CCHIIM Commissioners voted to dissolve the 40 percent requirement, effective immediately.
We know you can get CEU’s from a variety of sources. We hope you are taking full advantage of the free CEUs that come with AHIMA membership and considering all the new resources, opportunities and education from AHIMA designed to support your professional education in meaningful ways.
