Siniša Varga, DMD
Dr. Varga has more than 27 years of relevant professional work experience as provider of health services and senior manager in a tertiary care hospital; payer of health services as director of the National Health Insurance Fund; policy maker as minister of health and deputy minister of health; and as an international consultant for healthcare reforms in close communication with international organizations, government institutions, and non-governmental organizations.
Dr. Varga also has more than 18 years of work experience in healthcare restructuring activities. These activities include designing and executing the the digitalization of the national health system in 2002, including the e-prescription system, where Croatia is today highly ranked by the European Commission (European Hospital Survey: Benchmarking deployment of eHealth services); designing and executing the National (master) Plan for the Development of Hospitals in the Republic of Croatia from 2014 to 2016; reform of health organization payment systems including the introduction of KPIs and QIs linked to outcomes; realigning the role of family medicine centers; emergency medicine reforms; health institution financial rehabilitation and others. He has extensive knowledge and experience as a senior and lead consultant involved in reforms for numerous projects in Western Europe, Central or Eastern Europe, and the Western Balkan countries.
