AHIMA Calls for Nominations for its Prestigious Grace Award

Applications to be Accepted through May 22

CHICAGO – March 12, 2020 – The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) announced today it’s accepting applications for the ninth annual Grace Award. The award honors healthcare delivery organizations that demonstrate industry-leading approaches to health information by connecting people, systems and ideas.

Interested applicants may submit their entries at AHIMA.org/Grace through May 22. More than 90 years ago, Grace Whiting Myers acted on a sincere conviction to improve the quality of our nation’s health records by founding the association now known as AHIMA. The idea was simple–that advancements in the collection and organization of health information will invariably help to improve public health. As a tribute to Myers’ prescient vision, AHIMA’s annual health information management (HIM) award bears her name.

“It’s been inspiring to see how past Grace Award winners have demonstrated transformative journeys toward new and innovative HIM practices that lead to better patient outcomes,” said AHIMA CEO Wylecia Wiggs Harris, PhD, CAE. “We’re excited to see how this year’s applicants use innovative and novel approaches within HIM to deliver high-quality care to patients.”

The 2020 Grace Award will be presented at AHIMA20, AHIMA’s Health Data and Information Conference in Atlanta, Oct. 14-17.
