Executive Insights

This immersive, one-day summit will provide access to knowledge, strategies, and insights to:

  • Prioritize policy areas that can truly improve health and healthcare outcomes.
  • Harness the impact of healthcare, technology, and business collectively to drive change.
  • Identify areas of consensus that can accelerate improvement.

Attendees will gain access to a supportive network of SDOH tools and resources developed by the Data for Better Health initiative. In addition, leaders will have opportunities to engage with American Health Information Management Association® (AHIMA®) and other stakeholders to discover tangible examples and data to guide programs and public policy development.

What Is Data for Better Health?

Better health and improved health equity are inextricably tied to what is happening in an individual’s life outside of the healthcare they receive. Those circumstances, SDOH, significantly affect health and healthcare outcomes.

To truly improve health equity, we must take action at an organizational level and encourage change among frontline health workers, while developing a public policy environment that supports that action.

AHIMA launched Data for Better Health to raise awareness of the potential for collecting, using, and sharing SDOH data to improve individual and community health and healthcare outcomes.

I believe in my heart that health information professionals are the absolute key to success in addressing social determinants of health."

—Maria Caban Alizondo, PhD, RHIT, FAHIMA
Director, Health Information Management, UCLA Health and incoming AHIMA President
