In addition, DeVry University, Augusta University (formerly MCG), and Dalton State College have all benefited from Evans's involvement on their HIM advisory boards.

A Fellow of AHIMA, Evans holds several degrees--a Masters of Business Administration from Mercer University, a Bachelor's of Medical Records Administration from Emory University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Emory University.

She is the recipient of the 2018 Trust HCS Trust Builder Award and the 2011 AHIMA Mentor Award.
