Position Statement Question
AHIMA’s mission is empowering people to impact health. What distinctive expertise and experience do you have to contribute to AHIMA’s mission?
I firmly believe that individuals need to be empowered to be their own best advocates in seeking and obtaining healthcare. As HIM professionals, we should be leading the charge to make health information easily accessible to all, so they can make the most informed decisions possible about their own health. We should also promote the need for individuals to perform sound research on their own health issues, so they are active participants in their own treatment plans and are aware of all options available to them.
