Neisa R. Jenkins, EdD, RHIA
Neisa R. Jenkins, EdD, RHIA, is a full professor in the College of Health Sciences at DeVry University. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Information Management at the University of Illinois (Chicago), a Masters of Arts in Health Information Management at the College of St. Scholastica and her Doctorate of Education at Walden University. She has over 25 years of experience in health information management. Her professional background includes HEDIS auditing, consulting, quality improvement, utilization management, release of information, EHR-S implementation, HIPAA implementation, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and teaching in higher education. Jenkins has held positions as program dean, faculty chair, and visiting professor. Jenkins is dedicated volunteer for GHIMA and NGHIMA. She has served on the GHIMA board of directors and currently serves on the NGHIMA board of directors. She received the 2017 GHIMA Mentor Award, the NGHIMA Outstanding Service Award 2016-2017 and the NGHIMA Perfect Attendance Award 2016-2017. She also serves on the AHIMA scholarship Committee. She is dedicated to the future progression of the HIM profession and transformation of the healthcare industry.
