As a RevCycle Client Value Executive, ELAINE O’BLENESS, MBA, RHIA, CDIP, CHP, CRCR, is focused on assessing client’s HIM, Coding, and Clinical Document Improvement Operations for efficiency and effectiveness.

She makes an impact on her clients by serving as a Subject Matter Expert in the HIM, Medical Coding, and CDI areas. This enables clients to assess the efficiency of their HIM/Coding/CDI operations and their use of Cerner solutions.

Elaine joined Cerner in 2011 as a Heath Care Executive. Now providing service as a RevCycle Client Value Executive, she has assisted many clients with HIM/Coding operational efficiency.

Most recently at Cerner, Elaine has assisted many clients with both decrease of DNFC and successful implementation of ICD-10. She has also worked with clients to decrease their DNFC by exploring many strategies particularly the engagement of third-party Outsource Coding services to enable the client to get past the point of backlog in Coding. Elaine is a graduate of Wichita State University and has a Bachelor of Science in Medical Record Administration. She received her MBA from the University of Texas at Tyler. She holds her RHIA, CDIP, and CHP credentials from AHIMA and also her CRCR from HFMA. She also holds the distinction of being an ICD-10 Authorized Trainer through AHIMA. Prior to joining Cerner, Elaine served as Banner Health’s Western Region Director of Health Information Services, managing the HIM operations of 11 facilities across 6 states. Additionally, she managed her own HIM consulting practice. Elaine has served as the President of the Colorado Health Information Association and has been sought after for multiple speaking engagements.
