AHIMA Approved ICD-10 Trainers

For in-depth training and education on ICD-10-CM/PCS, an expert trainer can help. AHIMA developed a program for approving trainers who meet specific standards and fulfill rigorous requirements. AHIMA-approved trainers can guide coding professionals in becoming proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding systems.

Prerequisites for participating in the Academy include three years of direct experience assigning ICD-9-CM codes, plus training or teaching experience. Trainers are required to complete an advanced program that includes two online courses and three days of face-to-face training. After successful completion of both the online and face-to-face training, attendees must complete an assessment in order to receive an AHIMA Trainer Certificate.

Please note this is not a certification or credential.
