Liz Wilson, RHIA, CDIP, CCS, CPC, CRC, CEMC, CPMA, CPCO, CHC, began her career in HIM as an internal coding auditor for a Catholic Health System hospital in Lewiston, NY. There she implemented and achieved a coding accuracy outcome of over 95% in one year for seventeen hospital clinics. She then served as the Coding Director and Compliance Officer for a health care consulting company where her responsibilities included conducting audits, furnishing provider education, and managing compliance services for the group and its clients. In 2017 she accepted the position of Corporate Compliance and Privacy Officer at Endeavor Health Services. There she oversees compliance activities, clinical documentation improvement, regulatory audits, and medical records management.

Liz served as a NYHIMA delegate in 2015. She was elected VP of the AAPC Buffalo Chapter in 2015 and then President in 2016. She is credited with developing and instituting the first AAPC Approved Official Extern Site in Buffalo, NY, and served as an AHIMA Code-Check® team member from 2015 to 2017. She enjoys teaching auditing to NAMAS and health information to Medaille College students. Liz was the 2010 recipient of NYHIMA’s Outstanding Achievement Award and was a guest speaker at NYHIMA’s annual conference in June 2017. She was recently appointed to serve a three-year term as CCHIIM Commissioner. Her greatest reward is the satisfaction of preparing her students, staff, and customers for success.
