Students at AHIMA19 Conference

Students, are you ready for the AHIMA19 Health Data and Information Conference in Chicago IL? This is a great opportunity for HIM students to network, meet mentors and experts, learn more about the profession, and launch their careers. Keep in mind that there will be over 4,000 healthcare leaders and professionals in attendance-all with the same goal to learn, network, and explore the latest trends and topics facing the health information management industry.  Registration will open in the spring!

Students receive full access to the entire convention-including education tracks and general sessions. Student attendees will also be able to take advantage of the Student Academy and the Career Center in the Exhibit Hall. The career center is open from 11 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and includes the Career Theater, Career Fair, and The Professional Headshot Station

Student Academy
The student academy a free event for all students who are registered to attend the convention. It includes presentations from HIM professionals, roundtable discussions, career advice, AHIMA certification information, lunch with HIM mentors, and more. This event is organized by the Student Advisory Committee specifically to meet the needs of future HIM leaders.  

Student Jeopardy
AHIMA will have the Student Jeopardy event back again this year. The teams will be comprised of four students, each competing against other HIM programs. The questions will include a variety of topics such as coding, technology, IG, health law, release of information, informatics, and more. 

Career Center in the Exhibit Hall
The career center is open from 11 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and includes the Career Theater, Career Fair, and The Professional Headshot Station.
